Connaught Cup U-14

Westport advanced to the Q/F of the Connaught Cup today after defeating Cregmore of Galway by 4-1 in Galway. In difficult conditions, Westport took the lead in the 3rd minute with a well taken strike from Cillian Heaney, but within 10 mins the home side were level. It was looking like both sides would go into the break level, but Tim Campion had other ideas, when he met a Caomhainn O’Toole corner, to head Utd back in front. The second half proved more comfortable for Westport, as they seemed to adapt to the conditions better, and 2 further strikes from Heaney to complete his hat trick, qualified them for a Q/F spot in February.
